Brandstorm 2023 was a design based case competition hosted by SFU’s Student Marketing Association. Out of a total of 15 teams, my group, Canberra consulting managed to take home first place!
Tasked with creating a solution to increase Frontline Real Estate’s applications and to specially target young and creative professionals; we designed an AR marketing campaign.
The campaign also interconnects with our re-design of our website to improve accessibility and give Frontline a new and modern look.
I was responsible for handling all of the augmented reality UX design, as well as the UX and UI for the website. I also assisted Maggie Chang with the graphic design work for the posters.

A user would encounter one of our 3 poster variants in the wild. Whether they be at a Frontline property, or anywhere public like a bus shelter. The user would be enticed and then scan the QR code on the poster.

The user is now greeted with a refreshed website for frontline that presents all of the same information but in a more digestible and friendly way.

After navigating to the careers page they can now easily see the job descriptions and open positions. Furthermore they are organized by experience level to encourage entry level applicants to apply.

After considering several different ideas from a TikTok campaign to a TV/video system we settled on using some kind of AR system that would integrate directly into our website. The best way to improve a client’s goals isn’t to necessarily tear everything down and start again, It’s to use the foundation they gave, but turn it into a better, more beautiful house.

In the future I would have loved to have gotten a chance to experiment with using real 3D models inside of the AR prototypes and to get at least one working with the camera functionality.
Exploring AR prototyping in the future opens so many more possibilities for solutions to complex problems that I really want to explore it!
